Lady Gaga Joins Wednesday Season 2, Currently Filming in Europe

Lady Gaga has officially joined the cast of Wednesday Season 2, which is currently in production in Europe, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.

Details about her role remain under wraps, but the collaboration has sparked significant excitement among fans. During a 2023 Golden Globes red carpet interview with Variety, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega speculated about a potential role for Gaga, saying:

“I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way. So, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”

The announcement follows the viral success of Gaga’s 2011 track “Bloody Mary,” which saw a resurgence on TikTok thanks to a fan-made edit that paired the song with Ortega’s now-iconic dance from the Netflix series. Gaga herself embraced the trend by posting a TikTok of her own, further fueling speculation about her involvement in the show.

Gaga’s foray into Wednesday adds another highlight to her acting career, which includes acclaimed roles in A Star Is Born and House of Gucci, as well as her Golden Globe-winning performance in American Horror Story: Hotel. Most recently, she co-starred in Joker: Folie à Deux, set for release in 2024.

Beyond acting, Gaga continues to thrive musically. She recently dropped “Disease,” the lead single from her upcoming eighth studio album, slated for release in February 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates on her role in Wednesday as production unfolds.
